A month ago I landed as a Canadian immigrant. Finally, after that grueling and stressful paper works. But the question is what’s next?
I’ve been thinking of going to school, choosing the best university and taking degree where I can land a job and gives me a sustainable income. While experiencing the recession here in Canada, I realized that the only job that is secure and low risk (or NO risk) of being laid-off is the medical course. So that’s the path that I was planning to take.
At first, my enthusiasm to pursue the medical course sky-rocketed, despite the fact that I have to start on ground zero since the degree I took in Philippines is more Math related, and not to mention that it will require me big money. None of that really matters until a realization came – is it really what want I to do? Because, instead of preparing myself to be accepted in medical course, I find myself more driven into arts, crafts, blogging, online marketing, self-development and investing money. Apparently, medical isn’t my field.
At my age, I don’t want to make a decision because of the money factor. I’ve been through that phase – I was focus on choosing career thinking that it will give me a great income, but I ended up jumping from one job to another. As a result, I am an engineer with lack of experience and skill.
That realization resulted into a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, the cons and pros, the contradiction of reality and dreams. I came to the point that I feel like I am lost. Even my desire to be a creative entrepreneur can’t convince me enough to take the path. So once again I am indecisive.
At time like this, I always have to communicate with my mom. I hate bothering her with my emotions. But there’s always something in her words that give me comfort.
