It started at Facebook… a previous high school friend, named Mr. A (I’ll call him that way in this post), suddenly chatted me, we exchange conversation until he opened up with a business proposal, a multilevel marketing – Alliance in Motion (AIM) Global. I’m quiet interested because I heard he’s really successful with it and he’s earning more or less Php 70,000.00 a month. That’s huge money!
But on the other hand I’m not 100% convinced because I know my personality – I’m not really into direct selling. But he was so insistent; every day he sent me inspiring (about success) messages, until I gave in and was convinced to attend their business forum.
The forum was supposed to start at 6:00 pm. I went to the venue earlier; because I know successful people (if not all them then mostly) are time conscious. Unfortunately the speakers were almost an hour late. I know it’s a sign that it’s not really for me. Mr. A, who continuously monitored me was not their too because according to him he had business transaction in other place at that time, only to found out after few days that he was not based in Davao but in General Santos.
The forum started with the sharing of successful members who have been in the AIM for several months or years and earn huge money monthly. I can still remember the first sharer wearing gold jewelleries: rings, necklace, and expensive watch, not to mention his new brand new car, showing how successful he is through AIM Global. He used to work as embalmer and quit when he found out about business. Now he`s a millionaire! Isn`t it amazing?
Unfortunately, I cannot stay longer due to limited vehicle going to our house. So in the middle of the discussion I left the venue. Mr. A, asked about it and I decided not to join. By the way, I need to invest Php 8,000 for the Global package that includes products worth 6,000 which I can resell and start earning.
To cut the story short… Mr. A won, with the promise that I already have a set of downlines. Isn`t it great?
Several weeks after, I was not able to sell all the products. He told me I can send the rest of the product to him through LBC, coz he`ll be the one to resell it since he has more contacts.
After a month later, I asked for the money. The products I sent were worth Php 4,000.00. But he was not replying any messages both in text messaging and facebook message. I called several times but he did not answer.
Until one time, he replied with a text message “who is this please?“ I introduced myself again, but he just replied that it`s his driver (wow! He has his own driver?) and told me that he`ll let his boss know about the message. I continuously message him, but he didn`t reply.
The question is how come he can be easily contacted when he was still recruiting me? I`m bothered… It is that way they earn money by deceiving people? He should have guided me, since I was still neophyte in the business. Or he could have just leave me instead of getting the products from me and not returning my money. By the way, I got no downlines as he promised.
I just want to clarify that I`m not against with MLM and I also CLEARLY understand that in this kind of business I should exert effort to earn and not my upline that will make me rich. However, I am against to any who has self interest and deceive people just to earn.
